"I have setup autopay multiple times after a card had to be changed after an issue with identify theft. However, each month I continue to get a call that a payment is past due and my insurance is about to lapse and I have to provide the same information again. Last month it was because they were still using the old card impacted by identity theft despite that we had setup autopay with the new card and I’d informed them the other card is no longer valid. Apparently you are also not able to setup or change autopay online either. Even after I had the call records of the times I’ve re-setup the autopay with the new card over the past few months, they basically denied it or implied I’m lying in their texts back to me—dodging any accountability on their end.
Frustrating and stressful. It seems they just care about taking your money and could care less about as customer. I had a similar issue with State Farm for renters insurance. Then when it comes time you may actually need to use your insurance policy, they make it as difficult as possible to proceed with your claim that you end up giving up and going with another provider.
Update: after my policy canceled and has to be reinstated due to the office not running the new card that was setup for autopay back in April of this year, I called the State Farm corporate customer service to get support and clarity. They indicated that despite that my local office setup autopay with the new card, it has to be setup in a second spot in my account as preferred card as well and since that was not done that was why they were running my old card every month and urgently telling me my policy is about to cancel if they don’t receive payment. The corporate rep indicated that each time the local office pulls the old card number it cancels autopay which is what had been happening. The local office had indicated each time this happens they have to wait 24 hrs to email the info to re-setup autopay and then apparently they forget to send it each time. Yet the corporate rep on the call said that is not true and did everything for me within a couple minutes to re-setup autopay. The corporate office was able to do everything on their end quickly while I was on the phone, and the rep indicated that the local office staff who manages my account may need more training on how to properly setup autopay for their customers. I would not have written such a lengthy review had it not been for the incompetence combined with them basically flipping it on me and blaming me for the autopay situation. The poor customer service and lack of care of the inconvenience has caused unnecessary stress each month—with autopay already setup for a service you’re paying for to have a peace of mind and save time—only to be urgently told each month payment is overdue and your policy will expire & have to redo the whole process again with this branch every time it happens!"

"I was in a tough situation considering transitioning my insurance coverage from a company I had been with for about 35 years. Many times I had considered a transition, but the process got so convoluted I eventually reversed back to status quo.
